As well-known for its cuisine as it is for the signature cocktails poured by its genetically blessed staff, Negroni Bar also has a reputation for spinning great music.
Can't make it to Florence? Don't worry. Leo Daddi, the bar's resident DJ, presided over this exclusive compilation, which brings the groovy sounds of Negroni to the world. This is not music for sports bars. The vibe of Negroni Play One is based in bossa nova, samba, and a distinctly European take on jazzy electronica. Swedish electronic duo Koop submits the cheery bossa nova of "Summer Sun," with vocals by Yukimi Nagano.
Pulse (featuring ex-Japan percussionist/remixer Steve Jansen teams with Fantastic Plastic Machine for "A River Dry," while ambient pioneer and pianist Roger Eno joins Arlo Rigazzi in a new band called Keen-o to contribute the moody, down-tempo "Choses a Faire." Best is the Real Tuesday Weld's "L'Amour et la Mort," which sounds like Geggy Tah collaborating with Martian organists. Negroni Play One might not give you the spectacular tastes and gorgeous views that Negroni Florence Bar offers in person, but it will definitely make wherever you are sound like it.
